DGL Week 3 Recap: Richard Erupts at Torrey Pines as Divisions Tighten

The Dream Golf League rolled into Torrey Pines, one of the most iconic and demanding stops on the PGA Tour. The long par fours, coastal winds, and thick rough forced players to grind for every stroke. But as always, Torrey rewarded elite ball striking, and several players delivered their best golf of the season.

A Division: Richard Drops a 65 and Torrey Trembles

Torrey Pines is not supposed to yield low numbers, but Richard tore it apart with a stunning 65, the best round of Week 3 and one of the most impressive performances of the entire season. Thirteen greens in regulation and a 328‑yard missile off the tee set the tone for a round that never let up.

Nick stayed scorching hot with a 68, keeping his season average in elite territory. John added a strong 70, while Wayne and Terence matched each other at 71, both showing complete control of their long games.

Todd, Phil, and Chris all posted 73, proving once again that A Division is the deepest and most competitive group in the league.

A Division takeaway:   Richard’s 65 is the new season benchmark, but Nick remains the most consistent force. This division is shaping up to be a heavyweight title fight.

B Division: Mitch Breaks Through, Pack Stays Tight

Division B saw its first real separation of the season.

Mitch delivered a brilliant 74, his best round of the year, powered by eight greens and a 283‑yard longest drive. It was the kind of round that can shift momentum early in the season.

Behind him, Ryan B, Brad, and Victor all posted 76, keeping the middle of the division tightly bunched. Julian added a 79, while Vince and Brendan matched each other at 83.

Carlos rounded out the group with an 84, still very much in the mix.

B Division takeaway:   Mitch takes the spotlight this week, but the division remains a logjam. No one is running away with it.

C Division: Richie Leads, but the Story Is Parity

Torrey Pines hit Division C hard, but several players handled the challenge well.

Richie posted the low round of the division with a composed 80, showing excellent control and six greens in regulation. Ryan T followed with an 81, continuing his steady upward trend.

Tim added an 82, while Kevin, Jeff, and Bjorn all finished between 85 and 90. Ravi and Bhavika matched each other at 87 and 89, and Jean Luc posted an uncharacteristic 89 after two strong opening weeks.

Mark rounded out the division with a 92.

C Division takeaway:   Richie leads the week, but the division remains tightly packed. No one has separated, and every round matters.

D Division: Ryan A Stays Steady, but the Division Is Wide Open

Division D continues to be the most unpredictable group in the league.

Brenden S delivered the low round of the division with a sharp 85, showing real improvement and excellent driving accuracy. Matt C followed with a 90, while Ryan A posted a 92, keeping himself near the top of the early standings.

Marc, Corey, and Ed all finished at 93, creating a three‑way tie and keeping the division incredibly tight. Daren rounded out the group with a 98.

D Division takeaway:   Brenden S takes the week, but the entire division is separated by only a few strokes. Expect big swings as the season continues.

Final Word

Torrey Pines delivered everything you expect from a championship venue. Richard’s 65 was the headline, but across all divisions the story was resilience, precision, and the growing tension of a season that is already taking shape.
